This report presents an analytic framework for the optimization of unmanned platform deployments in barrier and area search Anti-Submarine Warfare missions. We consider fast random search algorithms and cost factors to quickly assess multiple combinations of platforms that may be available to the mission planner. The results allow for comparisons between unmanned and manned platforms and serve to quantify the balance between performance, cost, and total number of assets required.
