This report discusses the development of an optimisation framework allowing Matlab(c) to request range dependent acoustic coverage plots on a networked blade server. The scalable processing power afforded by blade servers is ideal for the processor intensive optimisation of ASW scenarios. Improved detection range assessment is demonstrated accounting for reverberation from multiple bearings across the beam pattern. The resulting analysis is able to determine the optimum depths for sensor vs various submarine depths. Further analysis provides a method to determine the best passive counter detection depth for a submarine listening for the radiated noise of a ship.
