This report describes the results of Monte Carlo simulations considering the deployment of unmanned sensors in multistatic configurations. Such a configuration allows unmanned platforms to operate passively while exploiting target echoes from some another transistor, resulting in contact range and bearing information. This is an attractive scenario since passive operation results in lower power requirements for small underwater platforms relying on batteries. It will also allow these platforms to remain undetected by the threat of a submarine while providing additional detection opportunities for the transmitting platform. This report further considers a simple evasion logic within the simulations and demonstrates how the multistatic deployment mitigates against the counter detection of the active transmitter.
